A fan died at the Smashing Pumpkins performance on September 24 in Vancouver, Canada. Police are alleging that the death was the result of a "mosh pit or crowd surfing incident."
The unnamed man was removed from the crowd unconscious and could not be revived. Later in the evening, he was pronounced dead at St. Paul's Hospital. There has been no official statement from the band or its representatives. Police suspect no foul play.

The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: The death of a 20-year-old man at a SMASHING PUMPKINS show in Vancouver, Canada last week was not the result of injuries sustained while moshing or crowd-surfing, according to the Globe and Mail. Following an autopsy on Friday (September 27), Vancouver regional coroner Owen Court said, "There is absolutely no evidence of any injury and therefore I would say, what you would call moshing or crowd-surfing would have nothing to do with this whatsoever. There was no injury on this young man."
