Song BMG have announced they will no longer be releasing PrinceÂ’s new album after his decision to give away thousands of copies for free.

The singer-songwriter has agreed to give away copies of ‘Planet Earth’ with the Mail On Sunday, with ticket holders for one of his upcoming 21 gigs at London’s O2 Arena also receiving a CD.

A spokesperson for Sony BMG now says, “Given the sheer number of copies we are talking about here it seemed the right thing to do for retailers to become exempt from the deal in the UK."
