[b:31j4eoas]All Music Guide Merges Into AllRovi.com[/b:31j4eoas]

The All Music Guide is merging into AllRovi.com and effectively changing its name and domain, reports Billboard.

The intent is to merge all of Rovi Corp.’s sites—AllMusic.com, AllMovie.com and AllGames.com—into one entity and hopefully generate more traffic. The combination of all three sites generates a monthly total of approximately three million unique visitors, according to the company.

All Music Guide is a source of a vast amount of musical information, from artist biographies to album reviews to news and so on. Many high-profile music sources like iTunes, Spotify and Napster currently use AllMusic to handle relevant artist information, and those services will continue without disruption, according to VP of marketing Dave Jordan. But new features will emerge, including a “recommendation tool that lets users find music by mood, genre or time period,” writes Billboard. Playlists will even be narrowed down to specific themes like “Family Gathering” and “Hike.”

Rovi Corp., which oversees AllMusic.com, is debuting a public beta of AllRovi.com today, followed by a private test period.
