Nuevo disco de Kid Rock, que estará dedicado a la ciudad de Detroit
Earlier this month Kid Rock previewed six songs from his forthcoming (and much-anticipated) eighth album, Born Free, at a hometown show in Detroit. Today Rock’s camp divulged all of the details about the new album which will hit stores on November 16th. The followup to 2007’s chart-topping Rock ‘N Roll Jesus, Born Free was produced by Rick Rubin and mixed by Greg Fidelman and the title track will be released as a single on September 15th. Though Rock’s trademark swagger is all over the album, he doesn’t rap and has described the album as “very organic blues based rock and roll.”
“The catalyst for this record was Detroit, and my thoughts on the world through the lens of Detroit,” says Rock. “Watching everything go downhill over the past few years, the economy, the loss of jobs everywhere, I wanted to make a record that reflected the times but that still had soul.”
Rock recorded the album in L.A. over a two-week period with an amazing crew of musicians including Heartbreaker Benmont Tench, Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith, David Hidalgo from Los Lobos and Chavez guitarist Matt Sweeney. He used studios in Detroit, Nashville and Atlanta to incorporate collaborations with Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Zac Brown, and Trace Adkins. And if all of this doesn’t pique your interest, then a collaboration between T.I. and Martina McBride on “Care” should at least raise your eyebrow.
