According to Billboard.com, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan has been working during the band's unexpected break on new music from his side project Puscifer. Maynard revealed at his MySpace page that Audioslave/RATM bassist Tim Commerford, drummer Brad Wilk, and guitarist Tom Morrello have played on the tracks, along with ex-Primus and A Perfect Circle drummer Tim Alexander. Keenan wrote that he plans to post songs on the page "within the next month or so."
"As promised, I've been working on some Puscifer tunes on my tour break. It's coming along well. I Should have some new music up on my page within the next month or so. So stay tuned. Several tracks are in the works. Tim Alexander (Primus) on a couple, Jonny Polonski on a few others, as well as Brad Wilk and Timmy C. (Rage Against The Machine/Audioslave) And the Lustmord tracks are turning out excellent. On the Merch front, I have some new ladies items up (photo attached). Still getting some of the stuff photographed, so more will soon follow. I did a kick ass leather jacket with Paul Frank that will be up very soon. Very limited run. Only 12 made, so keep your eyes on the limited edition section of our cart for those. Thank you for your interest and support. It's much appreciated. No one is really aware of this project yet, so it's pretty exciting for me. Sort of like wrapping a gift for a friend that you know they're really going to like. And teasing them with 'I know something you don't know, I know something you don't know!'"

Puscifer Music Updates
"Finishing up the tracks. Should be mixing with Alan Moulder by August and hopefully have the whole thing out by mid October. Joe Barresi mixed the first song, for which we're making a video. And I've recorded a new version of Cuntry Boner which Joe will also be mixing. Most likely I'll be releasing Cuntry Boner as a cd single with some bonus tracks. I'll keep the updates coming.
New Era caps are on the way as well as some new contrast stitched Puscifer shirts and a limited edition Cunry Boner shirt."
PUSCIFER — the side project of TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan — has set an October 30 release date for its debut album, entitled "V is for Vagina".
"This is absolutely just put-it-on-and-move-your-butt -and-get-completely-out-of-your-head music," Keenan recently told MTV.com about the record. "This is purely body candy. It's meant to make you feel like I feel when I hear JAMES BROWN, when I hear some old JACKSON 5 or or ARETHA [FRANKLIN]. It's just that good feeling — music that makes you feel good. There's no math. Nothing wrong with math, but sometimes, it can be exhausting to be that forced, that focused. I'm a big KING CRIMSON fan, but only when I have the energy to be. Sometimes I just want to hear GNARLS BARKLEY."
PUSCIFER is comprised of a revolving door of contributors, including multi-instrumentalist Danny Lohner; songstress Lisa Germano; TELEFON TEL AVIV's Joshua Eustis; Jonny Polonsky; PRIMUS' Tim Alexander; model Milla Jovovich; TOOL guitar tech Matt Mitchell; and dark ambient artist Lustmord.
Keenan intends to release PUSCIFER's debut album without the backing of a major label. But while he'll fund the album's release in the U.S., he'll still need to license the material out for international distribution.
