Pearl Jam told a crowd in Portugal that the band have played their "last gig" for a long time.
The band were appearing at the Optimus Alive festival in Lisbon last night (July 11) when they made their announcement, reports Blitz
Reading in Portuguese from a sheet of paper, frontman Eddie Vedder made the announcement just after the band had kicked off their set.
"Thank you for coming to our last show," he told the crowd. "Not our last ever, but our last in a long time."
The band then continued the gig without illuminating why they are taking the break.

el efecto sopresa con Pearl jam hace ya muchos años que no existe.. los adoro, me encantan y su último disco me gusta.. pero me aburren en muchos otros momentos!!! siempre los vi (salvando muchísimas distancias) como los the who de esta "nuestra generación"...

El tío parecía tener tablas sobre el escenario, incluso al final del tema se envalentonó y se puso a hacer gorgoritos con la voz con risas generalizadas de la peña <!-- s --><img src=""{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif"" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s --> En el fondo tuvo su gracia porque fue breve, aunque puestos a atender las peticiones de una pancarta ya podrían haber hecho caso a la chavala que estaba en primeras filas con un cartel en el que ponía "State of love and trust"
Pues un setlist normal y corriente...
