Nicholas Blossom of New York City indie outfit Alaska Alaska fell from a balcony and impaled his head on a spiked metal fence over the weekend. The drummer survived and is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.

Police reports indicate that Blossom was intoxicated at a party in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan when he fell from the third-floor balcony around 4 a.m. Saturday. He landed headfirst on the fence of a second-floor of an adjoining building and rescuers needed an electric saw to remove him.
