Los australianos prometen nuevo disco y gira para el año que viene. Formados en Melbourne en 1982, el grupo siempre se caracterizó por su mezcla de influencias que iban desde el folk gaélico a los ritmos africanos.
[quote:wxebuyi1]Aside from a brief reunion in 2005, celebrated world music outfit Dead Can Dance have been largely dormant since their 1998 breakup. That will change in 2012, however, as core members Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry are planning to reunite for a tour and a new album.
In a new MySpace blog post[/url:wxebuyi1, the group wrote, "Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard are set to commence work on a new album later this year. To coincide with the album's release in 2012, Dead Can Dance will embark upon an extensive two month world tour including dates in Asia, Australasia and South America."
Slicing Up Eyeballs also points to a recent post by Perry on his official forum[/url:wxebuyi1, where he wrote, "I have been talking with Lisa Gerrard this past week with regard to recording a new DCD album this coming winter. We hope to complete the album by the summer of 2012 and then embark on an extensive two month world tour in late 2012."
Assuming that the album goes ahead as planned, it will be the long-awaited followup to 1996's Spiritchaser.
Perry promised to post updates on their album progress, so keep your eyes peeled to his website[/url:wxebuyi1. Before the reunion begins, he will be touring North America with former Cocteau Twins member Robin Guthrie. The outing includes Canadian shows in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, so check out the dates here.[/quote:wxebuyi1]
