En su blog explica sus experiencias con acento galés del sexteto, de como llegaron hasta él a través de un proyecto que nunca llegó a ver la luz, así como detalles técnicos de la grabación

[quote:3vwa3whf]Lost Prophets approached me in November of last year. These guys have had some huge success in their home territory of the UK. Arena level tours. They had a big hit here is the states in 2004 with the song “Last Train Home” from the album ‘Start Something’ which sold just shy of a million copies. They have been relatively quiet here since, but that’s all about to change.

”They’re Welsh, so sometimes I can’t make out all the quick fired humor, but I enjoy the accent overall. When your the only person not speaking that way, you start to speak their way unconsciously. Which is fun, until you get home.

There are 6 guys in this band. This is my first sextet. Surprisingly I havenÂ’t felt it to be much of an issue so far. TheyÂ’ve been together for awhile and know each others idiosyncrasies very well.

This is another European band that has, at least partially, come to me from the Year of the Rabbit project I had a few years ago. The other being the French group Empyr. Its interesting because the YOTR album was never released anywhere accept in the states. Import only everywhere else. But with Torrent, I guess it really doesnÂ’t matter anymore.

I feel a little uncomfortable talking about an ongoing project since iÂ’m a bit too inside it to really be able to see it clearly, but I will give a few facts. We are recording the album in NoHo at NRG studios. This place is one of my favorite places to work, especially for this type of band, (i.e. hard rock). The studios are just no BS. Just want you want for tracking, big old neves, with lots of inputs, good mic locker, and you have your choice of tape or Protools. We are going straight to ProTools 24bit/48k for this. A lot of people ask me why 48k, why not 88.2, or 96. The main reason for me is I can hear the difference between 44.1 and 48k, but above that I have a hard time, except with maybe solo piano, which is extremely revealing in fidelity, and certain reverb tails. That, coupled with the cost of double file sizes and double the DSP required, and it just doesnÂ’t make sense on most projects for me.

This is a Sony project so I canÂ’t post up any of the new material, but I can say, without any bias at all, that this will be the best album these guys have ever made[/quote:3vwa3whf]
