“It is with great pleasure that we can finally let you all know what we have been working on. On September 28th, we will be releasing a new retrospective called Telephantasm. It includes songs from all of our albums and E.P’s, including “Black Rain“, an unreleased track from the Badmotorfinger sessions. Plus, we are releasing our first ever DVD which will include never before seen video’s, and much more.
We have partnered with Guitar Hero 6 to launch Telephantasm simultaneously with the launch of the new game. Which means if you buy Guitar Hero 6 for the week of September 28th you get a copy of Telephantasm as well. Of course, there will be vinyl, collectors editions, deluxe packages and more.

Soundgarden’s “Black Rain” is scheduled to impact at radio on August 10th. The song is an unreleased b-side from the “Badmotorfinger” recording sessions and will also be featured on the groups new retrospective collection “Telephantasm” and the upcoming “Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock” video game – both of which will see a September 28th release date.

Vamos, lo que viene siendo un "sacacuartos". Quizá el DVD merezca la pena aunque teniendo el Motorvision, ese directo en el momento más glorioso de la banda, es que no hay color

a ver si graban temas nuevos en esta línea... para mí su mejor disco es el badmotorfinger; si siguen sacando temas inéditos de esas sesiones me conformo.
yo soy un típico y me flipa el Superunknown, pero la verdad q como suena el tema este tiene pinta d q podrían sacar todo un discazo al igual que Alice in Chains
No se les ve muy por la labor. A Cornell siempre le he visto en lso conciertos como si no fuera con él. Empecé a tener esa sensación viéndole con Audioslave y luego ya, estando en solitario y en el primer concierto de reunión con soundgarden
Alguien más tiene esa sensación o soy solo yo?
Se mueve menos que Ozzy Osbourne.. Dudo que lo que vayan a sacar este a la altura del último de Alice in chains, ojalá me equivoque!

Respecto al corte inédito, su cantante Chris Cornell ha expresado a USA Today que “éste captura el sonido super heavy de la banda, del cual nos estábamos dando cuenta de su potencial completo, cerca de 1991”.
“Black Rain” también aparecerá en la nueva entrega del videojuego “Guitar Hero: Warrior of Rock”. El tema forma parte de su nueva compilación, Telephantasm, una retrospectiva a una de las bandas más importantes del rock de los Â’90, con fecha de lanzamiento para el próximo 28 de septiembre.
El tema está bien, suena a los Soundgarden cuando estaban en lo mejorcito de su carrera con un Chris Cornell desgañitándose a gusto, pero comparándolo con el resto de temas del Badmotorfinger se entiende por qué lo descartaron

SOUNDGARDEN: Footage Of 'Telephantasm' Manufacturing Process Posted Online - Sep. 16, 2010
SOUNDGARDEN will release its first collection of music since 1996, "Telephantasm", on September 28 in the U.S. and September 27 internationally. This career-spanning retrospective album includes never-before-heard unreleased track "Black Rain", taken from the "Badmotorfinger" recording sessions.
Behind-the-scenes footage of the "Telephantasm" manufacturing process can be viewed below.
The band will partner with innovative gaming publisher Activision to release the album on September 28 via A&M/UMe inside one million copies of the new videogame Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. This release marks the first time a music album will be simultaneously released and bundled with a video game launch. Additionally, fans will get full access to the band's new album as downloadable content for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The 12-song disc will then be available on October 5 at all music retail outlets and on the band's web site.
On September 28, A&M/UMe will release three expanded versions of "Telephantasm" which will include a double-disc with 12 additional tracks, five of which are previously unreleased, and SOUNDGARDEN's first-ever DVD, featuring 20 videos, 13 of which have never been released, a deluxe three-LP vinyl edition and an individually numbered super deluxe collector's edition. The super deluxe collector's edition will be available for a limited time and will include two CDs, the limited-edition DVD, three heavy vinyl discs, a collectible poster, lithos, and much more. These three expanded versions will be available at all music retail outlets and on the band's web site.
