A new Alice in Chains studio album could possibly be released in 2008.
When asked whether fans could expect a new album next year Jerry Cantrell responded "Definitely Possibly". "I don't think you can put a time limit on it, because first we have to come up with a record we're satisfied with, and I think we can do that."
Cantrell also said they have been tinkering with a few ideas here and there, and they'll start writing in earnest after the holidays.

Alice in Chains continue to write for what could be their first studio album since their 1995 self-titled release. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell recently told The Pulse of Radio, “We’ve been working about the last four months, and there’s a good bulk of music and a good body of work so far, and we’re having fun, and you know, we’re taking our time and trying to figure out where William fits in and where we need to step up, and I have all the confidence in the world in the guys. The most important thing to me is that we’re all together and, you know, it’s been a tough and painful experience at times, but it’s been very rewarding at the same time.”
A release is expected by the end of the year.

Han comentado que después de la publicación del disco saldrán de gira por todo el mundo.

q manía eso de "cambir los nombres" muchas bandas míticas tipo deep purple o black sabbath han seguido con peña distinta!! pq no lo puede hacer axl roses con sus guns o alice in chains? mirad blind melon...
